G2 Esports have had an excellent start to the 2025 VALORANT esports season. They won VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff and made the finals of VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025, but did not look great in the first week of Stage 1.

MIBR have not accomplished nearly as much this season, but they had a solid showing in the first week of the stage. So, while they're rightly priced as underdogs, I can see MIBR taking a map off G2 Esports, who, while great, are not invincible.

G2 Esports won VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff and placed second at VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025, which is seriously impressive. However, even though G2 Esports have looked excellent this season, they will not have an easy time on Saturday.

G2 Esports started the VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1 with a 2-0 sweep of FURIA, but they did drop 10 rounds on Lotus (13-10) and seven on Ascent (13-7). This is slightly worrying, or better said, it's a good indication that G2 Esports are not invincible, even on their map picks – in this case, Lotus.

MIBR got off to a strong to the 2025 season. They placed third in VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff, where they arguably should've beaten Sentinels in the lower bracket finals.

They kept their momentum going into VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1 and dismantled Leviatan in the first week, with 13-7 on Split and 13-8 on Icebox. What makes this even more impressive is the fact that MIBR's best player, aspas, had a terrible day, posting a negative performance rating.

This proves that MIBR do not have to have their star player perform and leaves a strong statement that MIBR can be extremely potent when aspas steps up.

G2 Esports v MIBR

I would not doubt G2 Esports and their ability to defeat anyone in the VCT Americas, but that does not mean they'll have an easy time against MIBR, who were the third-best, arguably second-best, team of VCT Americas Kickoff.

Moreover, MIBR are in excellent shape, having demolished Leviatan in the first round, even without their star player playing well. Assuming aspas steps up on Saturday, there's a real possibility MIBR can win. At the very least, they should take a map.
