G2 Esports started the season by winning VCT 2025 Americas Kickoff, to which they added a runner-up finish in VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025 and another domestic title from VCT 2025 Americas Stage 1. Over that stretch, G2 Esports have lost just three games for a combined 17-3 record.

Paper Rex Form

Paper Rex have been iffy this season and hugely inconsistent. However, despite the slow start, Paper Rex found more momentum in the latter stages of VCT 2025 Pacific Stage 1, and they kept their wheels spinning, posting promising results in the Swiss Stage.

The Pacific squad made it through the Swiss Stage with wins against Team Heretics (2-0) and Team Liquid (2-1), while their only loss came against the surging Gen.G Esports (0-2), and even that series could've easily extended to three maps.

Paper Rex are slowly gaining momentum, and considering this roster's raw quality and experience, they are not to be overlooked as dangerous dark horses to make a deep run.

G2 Esports are billed as firm favourites to defeat Paper Rex on Friday. Considering G2 Esports' success this season and everything they've shown, that makes sense, but I doubt their chances of sweeping.

Paper Rex are in excellent form and look more than capable of holding their own against any team. Moreover, G2 Esports have not played a game in over one month, so they are unlikely to have a strong start and are set to struggle a bit until they shake off the rust.
