LOUD and Sentinels will clash on Saturday, February 17, in the first round of Group B at VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Americas Kickoff. It'll be one of the most exciting games of the tournament, and from afar, there doesn't seem to be a clear favourite.

Valorant betting sites have Sentinels priced as 1.66 favourites to defeat LOUD, who enter the match as 2.10 underdogs. Considering the roster improvements, the offer makes sense, but while Sentinels look slightly better, that doesn't guarantee that they'll win.

LOUD have kept everyone from their 2023 roster, with the exception of Erick "aspas" Santos, which is quite a big deal. Aspas was objectively one of the best Valorant players in 2023, and without him, LOUD don't look as potent.

They replaced aspas with Gabriel "qck" Lima, who is a decent player but not at the level of his predecessor, so it'll be interesting to see how far LOUD can go with the new roster. While losing a key player will be noticeable, this is still the same core that placed third in the 2023 world championship, second in the kickoff event and won the VCT 2023: Americas League.

Essentially, this is a weaker version of a very strong team we know from 2023.

By adding Mouhamed "johnqt" Ouarid, Sentinels now have a dedicated in-game leader and seem to have things figured out. Last season wasn't the most successful for the team, as Sentinels failed to win anything noteworthy.

They placed 17th-32nd in the kickoff event, ended the VCT Americas League in seventh place, and crashed out of the LCQ in fourth. This season should be much more fruitful for the North American Valorant team, who field a very strong roster and seem to finally have a clear identity.

It's still unclear who will be the starting five for Sentinels, but it seems like Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro will be getting much more play time than initially expected. This is a positive thing, and it definitely helps to stay optimistic about how far Sentinels can reach.

Even though LOUD deserve respect, as this is still a stacked roster, the departure of their former coach and Erick "aspas" Santos will be noticeable. It's way too early to say how affected LOUD will be but without two key pieces that made them as successful as they were in 2023, LOUD should be pushed down a tier.

Sentinels are still a big enigma, but they have all the right pieces to succeed. With Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro on the roster Mouhamed "johnqt" Ouarid as IGL; this team has the potential to compete for the VCT Americas title.
