NRG started the 2024 Valorant esports season well, winning their first two series of VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff against FURIA and Cloud9. However, they ended up losing to Sentinels in the semifinals and missed out on Masters Madrid.

Still, NRG left a mark and took a map away from Sentiniels, nearly beating the eventual VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff and Masters Madrid champions, which is not something to ignore. Since the start of VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1, NRG have not disappointed, with two wins against FURIA and LOUD, which sets them up nicely to add another victory and advance towards the playoffs.

Leviatan have not found much success so far this season, but they've had a few moments. In VCT 2024: Americas Kickoff, Leviatan defeated 100 Thieves (2-1), lost a close series against LOUD (1-2), and added another three-map defeat against Sentinels (1-2), who eliminated them from the group stage.

In VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1, Leviatan have shown much of the same, with some somewhat decent performances but nothing too exceptional. They lost to Cloud9 and upset Sentinels (2-0) last week, and with that, left a very strong statement.

But one good game after a three-game losing streak doesn't prove much. Especially since we haven't seen Leviatan play many maps, so it's difficult to say just how good Leviatan can be.

NRG v Leviatan

Leviatan and NRG are two teams that have the potential to compete for top spots in VCT 2024: Americas Stage 1, but they both still have a lot more to prove. Especially Leviatan, who have been largely underwhelming so far this season, although they picked up a huge win against Sentinels last round.

This should be an entertaining match that can easily extend to three maps. But it's hard to bet against NRG, who, unlike Levianat, have looked more consistent with their showings.
