Paper Rex entered VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025 as dark horses, but they quickly proved that they're more than that. After completing a run through the play-in stage, Paper Rex cruised through the upper bracket, sweeping G2 Esports (2-0), Sentinels (2-0), and Wolves Esports (2-0) to reach the grand finals.

For their accomplishment, Paper Rex received a two-map ban advantage, which will be useful against Fnatic, who have a very deep map pool. But it is fair to question whether it will give Paper Rex any meaningful advantage.

They might get rid of Ascent and potentially Icebox, which are two of their weakest maps. However, that still leaves Fnatic with Split, Fracture, and Lotus, where they're very efficient.

It's been a while, but Fnatic are back in the VALORANT Masters grand final, where they'll chase their first international trophy since winning VALORANT Masters Tokyo 2023.

Despite not having found much success in international events in recent years, Fnatic are deserving finalists in Toronto, having proven themselves as one of the tournament's best teams.

They kicked off VALORANT Masters Toronto with a 1-2 loss against Gen.G Esports but then completed the lower bracket run with wins against Rex Regum Qeon (2-1), Sentinels (2-1), G2 Esports (2-0), and Wolves Esports (3-1).

With each passing game, Fnatic have been playing better, slowly gaining momentum and form, which seems to have peaked right ahead of the big game.

Much of their success is thanks to Alfajer, who is the tournament's third-highest-rated player at 1.18, with Chronicle close behind at 1.14 and kaajak at 1.09.

Paper Rex v Fnatic

Paper Rex have looked very good this tournament, but Fnatic have been gaining momentum too and played incredibly well in their last two outings. The two-map ban advantage bumps Paper Rex up a bit; however, Fnatic have a deep map pool, so it likely will not harm them and their winning chances much.

Despite not holding a perfect record, I liked what I saw from Fnatic more. They should be favoured.
