Talon Esports enter the final day of VCT 2023 Pacific League with a 2-6 record, which locks Talon out of advancing to the playoffs. Although an unfortunate outcome, Talon Esports haven't shown enough to deserve a higher placement.

Throughout the seven weeks of play, Talon Esports have won just two series – against ZETA DIVISION (2-0) in Week 5 and against Gen.G (2-0) in Week 7. Beating Gen.G is no small feat considering Gen.G were one of the leading candidates to win the league; however, the Korean squad have recently started to struggle, so I'll take that win with a grain of salt.

Besides the two wins, Talon Esports looked shaky and couldn't find any consistency in their showings. They had their moments, though, particularly over the last two weeks, so perhaps Talon Esports are not as weak as their record suggests.

Esports betting sites have priced Talon Esports as huge favourites to defeat DetonatioN FocusMe, and that sounds about right. Even though this match doesn't matter, as it won't affect the teams' final placement, it's still highly unlikely that Talon Esports will just turn off and allow DFM to run them over.

We could see a more relaxed approach from the teams, but that applies to both squads, so barring any surprises, Talon Esports should come out ahead without any major issues. DFM have had some solid moments this season, but those have become very scarce of late, so unless Talon Esports shoot themselves in the foot, we can expect a quick 2-0 sweep for the Thai squad.
