TALON and Team Secret will face off on Sunday, March 23, in the first week of VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2025: Pacific Stage 1, marking their first meeting of the 2025 season.

TALON had a much more promising start to the season, placing fourth in the VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff. However, they have since made a couple of roster changes and brought in thyy and killua and have since not played an official match.

Changing two players will not do them any favours, especially as the latest arrivals have not played a match with their new team yet. Moreover, TALON were not particularly good in the Kickoff event, so their fourth-place finish is a bit misleading.

TALON should be favoured, mainly because it is hard to say how good Team Secret are after their short and uninspiring run through VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff. But this is still a clash between two shaky teams, and I expect it to play out as such.

TALON placed fourth in VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff, with wins against Global Esports (2-1) and Nongshim RedForce (2-1) and two defeats against T1 (1-2) and Gen.G (0-2).

Those results do not prove much as it was a while ago. Moreover, TALON have made two very big roster changes this offseason, so it is fair to say that the new version of TALON will be nothing like the one we saw at the start of the season.

Team Secret Form

Team Secret had a terrible start to the season. They ended VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff in last place, with defeats against Global Esports (1-2) and Rex Regum Qeon (1-2), which is not too inspiring. But I would argue Team Secret underperformed.

This same core placed top-six in the 2025 VCT Pacific Stage 1 and 2 and ended the 2024 Kickoff event in fifth. So even though they did not find much success earlier this season, Team Secret are evidently capable of much more.

While I would not rank them as one of the top-four teams in the league, Secret might be a bit underrated.

TALON v Team Secret

TALON did much better than Team Secret in VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff, but there are two things to consider – Secret played worse than they should, and TALON have since made two roster changes.

While adding two new players could work out, it will likely lead to worse showings early on until they get integrated with the rest of the team. For this reason alone, I expect this to be a much more competitive game than what the betting markets suggest.
