BBL Esports did not have the best start to the 2025 VALORANT esports season. However, they have found more momentum in Stage 1, ending the group stage in second place with a promising 4-1 record.

During the group stage, BBL have picked up wins against Karmine Corp (2-1), KOI (2-0), Gentle Mates (2-0), and FUT Esports (2-0), but they were no match for Team Liquid (1-2). BBL added a 2-0 sweep of NaVi in the first round of the playoffs, improving their record to 5-1.

However, as promising as that is, Team Heretics are still a stronger team than anyone BBL have faced so far.

There is no denying that BBL Esports are a good team and they have produced very convincing performances en route to the second round of the upper bracket. On the other side, it is important to remember that the gap between the top two VALORANT teams (Heretics and Team Liquid) and the rest of the league is quite significant.

BBL have already lost to Liquid, and they’re priced as underdogs to defeat Heretics. This sounds like a fair assessment, considering how good Heretics are individually and as a unit, boasting some of the region’s top stats.

There’s a world where BBL take one map. But it is just as likely for Heretics to sweep.
