Team Liquid vs GIANTX Predictions

Team Liquid and GIANTX will meet on Friday, April 19, in the third round of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: EMEA Stage 1 regular season. It’ll mark their first meeting of the season, and according to esports betting odds, Team Liquid should win.

Valorant betting sites have Team Liquid priced as 1.53 favourites to defeat GIANTX, who enter the match as 2.37 underdogs. While neither team have looked good this season, Liquid have shown slightly more, which explains the offered price. But can they justify their tag as the favourites?

  • Team Liquid are 1-2 this stage
  • GIANTX have yet to win a series this season
  • Both teams are desperate for a win

Head to Head

GIANTX and Team Liquid have yet to meet this season.

Team Liquid Form

Team Liquid are 1-2 in VCT 2024: EMEA Stage 1, which isn’t the best spot to be in. They won against KOI in the first week but then lost against FUT Esports (0-2) and Natus Vincere (1-2).

Losing against FUT or NaVi isn’t a reason for concern. But the way Liquid lost to Natus Vincere might be. Liquid were in a good spot to win the series after picking up the first map 13-10, but then they fell apart and lost the final two maps 11-13 and 5-13.

Defeats like that sting and could inspire better performance on Friday, giving Liquid a bit more boost to bounce back. On the other side, that match had to hit the team’s morale, which already wasn’t in a good spot after a slow start to the season.

Team Liquid Squad & Team News

No new changes for Team Liquid.

  • Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen
  • Ayaz "nAts" Akhmetshin
  • Enzo "Enzo" Mestari
  • Georgio "Keiko" Sanassy
  • James "Mistic" Orfila

GIANTX are 0-4 this season, and still without a single series win. But things aren’t as bad as they may seem.

GIANTX have so far lost against Karmine Corp (0-2 and 1-2), FUT Esports (1-2), and Fnatic (1-2), so essentially, they’ve lost only against three of the strongest teams in the league. And still, GIANTX won a map in three of those four series.

For a four-game losing streak, this is as good as it can get, even though it’s tough to praise GIANTX too much for what they’ve shown this Valorant esports season. They didn’t come close to beating Fnatic last week, and they failed to keep Karmine Corp on their toes in the first week of VCT 2024: EMEA Stage 1, but they have shown some good things against tough opponents.

GIANTX Squad & Team News

GIANTX have not announced any changes.

  • Kirill "Cloud" Nehozhin
  • Adolfo "Fit1nho" Gallego
  • Aaro "hoody" Peltokangas
  • Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas
  • Igor "Redgar" Vlasov

Team Liquid look as a stronger team on paper mainly because they could’ve beaten Natus Vincere last round and they have the players to do well. But Liquid didn’t beat NaVi and lost quite badly, after choking the final two maps of the series.

GIANTX, on the other side, haven’t come as close to beating their last two opponents, yet they still took maps off some of the best European Valorant esports teams, which counts for something. So, while it’s tough to trust GIANTX to win, they’ve shown enough to believe they can put up a fight against Liquid.
