Both teams slipped in Week 1 but left a positive mark, as ZETA took a map off the reigning Masters champions T1, while Team Secret took a bite out of TALON. Yet despite ZETA DIVISION's solid performance against the world's no.1 team, they enter this match as underdogs, which makes little sense.

This is a very winnable match for both teams and should be viewed much closer to 50/50 than anything else. So as much as you have to show some respect to Team Secret, ZETA DIVISION are a no-brainer pick at outsider odds.

Team Secret struggled to leave a positive mark in VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff, with two losses to Global Esports (1-2) and Rex Regum Qeon (1-2). However, they did collect two maps and added one more last week when Secret lost to TALON (1-2).

It was not a terrible game for Team Secret, who had their moments. But it was also far from perfect.

Team Secret humiliated TALON on Pearl (13-5), got humiliated on Fracture (2-13), and lost a 22-round game against Haven (9-13).

Individually, invy was the only player on Secret who performed well, posting a 1.17 rating. All of his teammates were at 0.89 or lower.

ZETA DIVISION Form

ZETA DIVISION are widely considered the weakest VCT Pacific team in the region, and they hardly made anyone question that with their performances in VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff – with two losses to Nongshim RedForce (0-2) and Paper Rex (0-2). Across the two games, ZETA DIVISION have not passed double digits once.

However, despite the abysmal showings at the start of the season, the Japanese outfit left a very strong statement last week when they took a map off VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025 champions, T1.

While the game was not particularly close, and T1 never seemed to be in danger of losing the series, that does not take away from ZETA's solid performance.

Team Secret v ZETA DIVISION

ZETA DIVISION did well in the first week of VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff and looked much better than in the first tournament of the season. They seem to have improved their fundamentals, and with the map pool changes and the introduction of Ascent for Stage 1, ZETA should be in a fine spot.

While ZETA DIVISION are still not one of the tournament favourites, they are one of the most improved team compared to what ZETA showed in the Kickoff event. They can hold their own and should do more than fine against other middle-bottom-table teams.

This match is closer to 50/50 than the betting odds suggest, so I'll gladly take some ZETA DIVISION to win.
