For the group stage, all 16 participating teams will be divided into four double-elimination groups of four. All group stage games will be played as best-of-three (BO3), with the top two teams from each group advancing to the next stage.

Playoffs will feature just eight VALORANT esports teams who will be seeded into a single-elimination bracket. The grand finals will be played as best-of-five (BO5), while all other games will be best-of-three (BO3).

VALORANT Esports World Cup 2025 will offer a $1,250,000 prize pool, which will be divided among all 16 participating teams based on their final placement.

Gen.G (8.50) and Sentinels (9.00) are two dark horses to make a splash in Riyadh. Gen.G have been holding on well with a third-place finish in VCT Pacific Kickoff and a runner-up finish in Stage 1. They did not make the final three in Toronto, but still performed admirably well, beating Fnatic and Paper Rex before being eliminated by G2 Esports in the lower bracket quarterfinals.

Sentinels also left a mark in the recent Masters event. They bested Wolves Esports and played a competitive game against Fnatic.

While Sentinels have not reached the same heights as the top contenders, they have proven themselves as a competitive side who should not be underestimated.

Behind the leading four, there are not many teams that are given a realistic chance to succeed.

Team Heretics (13.00) and DRX (13.00) have not performed as well this season as they did in 2024, while NRG (13.00) has failed to keep up with G2 and Sentinels domestically.
