- Prediction
Royal Challengers Bangalore will begin their IPL 2025 campaign with a match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, March 22, from Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
RCB have revamped their squad in the mega auction last year with several new players that will hope to give the team some renewed vigour and spirit for the 2025 season.
RCB Schedule
RCB will play the season opener against KKR on the road but will play seven games at home this season at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

RCB Squad
Rajat Patidar (c), Virat Kohli, Yash Dayal, Josh Hazlewood, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, Liam Livingstone, Rasikh Dar, Suyash Sharma, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Swapnil Singh, Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Nuwan Thushara, Manoj Bhandage, Jacob Bethell, Devdutt Padikkal, Swastik Chhikara, Lungi Ngidi, Abhinandan Singh, Mohit Rathee.
RCB have brought in several exceptional T20 players for this season, including some that have performed for other teams. Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are just some players who have enjoyed success with other franchises.
While Josh Hazlewood is injured, RCB have plenty of bowling stocks in their squad, including Lungi Ngidi, Romario Shepherd, Bhuvneshwar, Rasikh Dar and Suyash Sharma.
Prediction
RCB have picked a strong outfit but they fade in comparison to the balance of some other teams. While Virat Kohli and new captain Rajat Patidar will be key figures in the batting department, RCB lack the firepower and form that some other teams have.
RCB will always contend for the playoffs but they don’t seem to have the strength in their middle order to be able to either chase high totals or stabilize totals in tricky batting conditions. This may be an unpopular opinion but we don’t feel RCB will qualify for the playoffs.
