There is plenty on the line for both sides as the finals series approaches. Adelaide have seen lots of draws recently, while Brisbane have only lost once in their last nine matches.

Head to Head

Adelaide have a 22-19 record against Brisbane with nine draws in 50 encounters.

Their last meeting saw Brisbane come away with a 3-1 win at home. Striker Dylan Wenzel-Halls netted a brace while midfielder James O’Shea also scored.

Adelaide United Form

While Adelaide are unbeaten in their last five matches, they have drawn on several occasions.

The Reds were held to a goalless draw at home against Western United. Adelaide were perhaps fortunate to come away with the point, after the visitors had a goal controversially disallowed.

Adelaide were forced to share the points in another 0-0 draw with Wellington in an even contest at Hindmarsh Stadium.

But Adelaide’s luck would run out as they were humbled 4-1 away to Melbourne City. Forward Ben Halloran scored Adelaide’s only goal in the 51st minute.

Midfielder Javi Lopez is out with a knee injury, while fellow midfielder Nathan Konstandopoulos is still recovering after rupturing his ACL.

Brisbane Roar Form

After a horror few weeks, Brisbane have turned their season around.

The Roar showed plenty of character in coming from behind to defeat Western United 2-1. Defender Josh Brindell-South equalised for his side before Japanese import Riku Danzaki won the match with his 94th minute strike.

A 3-2 loss against league leaders Melbourne City followed. After conceding the first two goals, Brisbane found themselves level after forward Joey Champness and defender Macauley Gillesphey both scored just before the break.

While a late goal would undo the Roar, they won plenty of admirers.

Brisbane responded with a goalless draw at home to Central Coast. The match was a fiery affair with several cards shown, while Roar goalkeeper Jamie Young impressed with several crucial saves.

Brisbane Roar Injuries & Team News

Brisbane’s defence has taken a hit in recent weeks with centre back Tom Aldred ruled out with a hamstring injury. Right back Jack Hingert has also been struck down with a hamstring problem.
