Steve Corica couldn't have asked for a better start for his Auckland FC outfit, with the A-League new boys winning all four of their games, keeping a clean sheet in each.

Despite playing one game less than Melbourne Victory and Wellington Phoenix due to the bye, Auckland are flying high at the top of the ladder on 12 points, two ahead of their nearest threats.

Auckland won their opening two home games 2-0 and 1-0 against Brisbane Roar and Sydney FC respectively before earning early bragging rights in the Kiwi Clasico, travelling to Wellington and coming away with a 2-0 triumph.

The bye and international break followed, with Auckland returning during Unite Round for their first game in Australia, with Guillermo May's goal in the 34th minute handing the side a 1-0 win over Macarthur.

Newcastle Jets Form

It's looking like it's going to be another long season for the Jets, who have only made the finals series once since winning the 2008 Grand Final.

Newcastle have won just one of their four games to start the season and are languishing down in 11th spot on the ladder as a result.

That one win was fairly fortuitous too, with the Jets ambushing Macarthur on the road with two goals in the space of five minutes to register a come-from-behind 2-1 victory, saving a penalty in the dying stages too.

Rob Stanton's side have lost their last two games 4-1 against the Wanderers and 2-1 in last week's F3 derby in Sydney to rivals the Mariners.
