Head to Head

Brisbane have a 20-8 record in the head-to-head with 12 draws in 40 encounters.

Their last meeting ended in a 1-1 draw in Wollongong. Wellington’s Tomer Hemed opened the scoring before Brisbane hit back through Golgol Mebrahtu.

Brisbane Roar Form

Brisbane are unbeaten in their last five matches and have reinvigorated their season. The Roar put eight winless matches behind them when they defeated Macarthur 2-1.

Striker Dylan Wenzel-Halls got back on the scoresheet, while midfielder Riku Danzaki netted the sealer just after half-time.

The Japanese midfielder was on target the following week as Brisbane defeated Western Sydney 2-1. Defender Josh Brindell-South also netted a rare goal on the night.

Brisbane then sent a big statement with their 4-0 win away to Central Coast. Forward Joey Champness scored his first goal for the club, as did Japanese midfielder Masato Kudo.

Wellington Phoenix Form

Wellington are knocking on the door of the top six after several impressive performances.

The Phoenix stormed home to defeat Perth 3-1 away from home in the Distance Derby. Striker Ben Waine opened the scoring while midfielders Louis Fenton and Jaushua Sotirio also contributed on the scoresheet.

Another Waine goal saw Wellington share the points with Western in a 1-1 draw, before defeating Adelaide 2-1.

After conceding early, Waine pulled one back for the Phoenix before Tomer Hemed sealed the win with a 90th minute goal.

Centre back Luke DeVere is out with a knee injury. Midfielder Reno Piscopo is still out injured.

Forward Ben Waine has scored in Wellington’s last four matches. He has formed a dynamic partnership with Israeli striker Tomer Hemed.
