Central Coast Mariners vs Sydney FC Predictions

Another big test presents itself for the Central Coast Mariners up against the reigning champions. Sydney and goalscorer Bobo are in fine form and appear to be peaking at the pointy end of the season.

I'm backing BTTS and a draw with Bobo to score.

  • Central Coast Mariners have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 4 matches (A-League).
  • Central Coast Mariners are unbeaten in 3 o their last 4 matches (A-League).
  • Sydney FC are unbeaten in 8 of their last 9 matches (A-League).
  • Sydney FC have drawn their last 2 matches (A-League).
  • Sydney FC forward Bobo has scored 4 goals in his last 6 matches (A-League).
  • Sydney FC are unbeaten in 7 of their last 8 against the Mariners (A-League).

Head to Head

Sydney have a 23-13 advantage in the head-to-head with 10 draws in 46 matches.

The Mariners picked up a shock 2-0 win in the last meeting between the two sides. An own goal scored by Sydney’s Ben Warland got the ball rolling, before Mariners forward Alou Kuol sealed the win with a 74th minute goal.

Central Coast Mariners Form

Central Coast’s reign atop of the A-League table has come to an end.

After three matches without a win, the Mariners picked up a much-needed 2-1 victory over Adelaide. Midfielder Oliver Bozanic and striker Alou Kuol scored midway through the second half.

A 2-2 draw with Western Sydney followed. Striker Matt Simon opened the scoring before the Wanderers hit back with two of their own.

But the Mariners would escape with a point after Bozanic slotted a late penalty.

Their luck would run out against Western United away in Tasmania with the Mariners going down 1-0.

Central Coast Mariners Injuries & Team News

Central Coast will once again come into this match without any injuries.

Sydney FC Form

Sydney FC look to be timing their run well this season.

A goal from forward Kosta Barbarouses was enough for the Sky Blues to record a 1-0 win over Perth at home.

Barbarouses was on target once again in Sydney’s dramatic 1-1 draw with Melbourne City at home, with the visitors equalising in the 98th minute.

The Sky Blues were forced to share the points the following week. Striker Bobo scored a double as Sydney were held to a 2-2 draw by Adelaide United.

Sydney FC Injuries & Team News

Full-back Rhyan Grant will miss this match due to suspension after he was sent off late last week.

Left-back Michael Zullo remains sidelined with a calf injury which has seen him miss all of 2021 so far.
