Macarthur are unbeaten in the last six meetings between the teams and have won the last two by 2-1 and 3-1 scores.

One of the toughest teams to dissect form-wise to start the season, Macarthur come into this encounter outside the top six after losing three of their last four games.

Macarthur were on fire in the pre-season, surging to a second Australia Cup trophy in three years after beating Melbourne Victory in the final.

They hammered Perth 6-1 in their A-League opener but followed that up with a 2-1 loss at home to the lowly Newcastle Jets and another defeat on the road to Victory.

Macarthur responded with a brilliant 2-1 triumph over heavyweights Sydney FC, but couldn't become the first team to beat Auckland FC in Unite Round last week as they went down 1-0.

Marin Jakolis leads the goalscoring charts with four strikes to open the season.

Jed Drew returns to the Macarthur squad after missing the last two games, while Chris Ikonomidis and Bernardo remain sidelined through injury.

Brisbane Roar Form

It's been a nightmare season for Brisbane, with the team dead-last on the ladder having lost all four of their games.

Roar have endured a tough draw across the opening month or so, facing undefeated Auckland FC, Sydney FC, Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United.

The Roar put up a good fight in 3-2 defeats against both Sydney and Adelaide last week during Unite Round, where they ultimately let slip of a 2-1 lead going into half-time.

Ruben Zadkovich's side have a lot of work to do in order to propel themselves up the ladder and they now must face a team they haven't beaten in the last six attempts.
