Melbourne Victory have a 13-12 advantage in the head-to-head with eight draws in 33 matches.

Melbourne City Form

City have piled the pressure on league leaders Central Coast with several strong performances.

While their six-match winning streak came to an end in a 2-1 defeat to Western United, City bounced back with a 3-2 win against Wellington.

Defender Curtis Good opened the scoring, while Maclaren and fellow striker Marco Tilio added goals of their own.

A 98th minute Maclaren penalty then saw City rescue a point against reigning champions Sydney FC in a 1-1 draw.

Midfielder Aiden O’Neill will miss once again with a back injury, while right-back Nathaniel Atkinson is also out with a hamstring problem.

Melbourne Victory Form

Amid all the chaos, it appears the Victory may have turned a corner.

The four-time champions held league leaders Central Coast to a 1-1 draw away from home with ex-Wigan winger Callum McManaman scoring.

A 3-0 loss at home to Sydney followed, before the club picked up just its third win of the season.

Second half goals to defender Dylan Ryan and forward Lleyton Brooks saw the Victory defeat Newcastle 2-1 in their first win in six matches.

Melbourne Victory Injuries & Team News

Winger Marco Rojas is still out with a fractured leg while experienced midfielder Leigh Broxham will also miss with a hamstring injury.

Defender Ryan Shotton will also spend another week out, though ex-Middlesbrough striker Rudy Gestede is a chance to return from a knee injury.
