Head To Head
The Wanderers have only defeated City once since the 2019/20 A-League season. City came away with a crushing 7-0 victory when these two teams met at AAMI Park last term.
Melbourne City Form
It's been a good start to the season for City, who have won three of their four games to be in fifth spot on the ladder.
City started the season with a 1-0 win over the Newcastle Jets on the road, but were brought back down to earth with a disappointing 3-1 defeat in the Melbourne derby against Victory.
Aurelio Vidmar's side responded strongly though, keeping a clean sheet in their next two games as they edged out Western United 1-0 before crushing Perth Glory 5-0 on the road.
City had the bye during Unite Round last week.
Melbourne City Team News
City have been forced to contend with various injury problems to start the season, with key players Andrew Nabbout and Marco Tilio both out for extended periods.
Western Sydney Wanderers Form
After missing out on the finals last season, the Wanderers have started this campaign slowly and come into this Round 6 fixture in 10th spot on the ladder.
Western Sydney's only win for the season came at home in a 4-1 battering of the lowly Newcastle Jets, with Alen Stajcic's side already losing two Sydney derbies this term.
After falling 2-1 in the opening derby, the Wanderers were again no match for Sydney FC in Unite Round as they suffered a 4-2 defeat last week.
The Wanderers also conceded four goals in a defeat to Adelaide earlier this season, so their defence needs considerable improvement if they are to make an impact this term.
Western Sydney Wanderers Team News
All eyes will be on Stajcic and if he decides to continue starting Juan Mata on the bench.

Verdict
City are tracking along nicely to start the season and they demolished the Wanderers 7-0 at home last season. I'm backing City at AAMI Park, but WSW can get on the scoresheet for the sixth straight game.
