Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar restarted their A-League seasons with defeats. They get the chance to put that right when going head-to-head at Bankwest Stadium on Wednesday.

Melbourne Victory Form

Melbourne Victory suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Western United on Saturday, with the loss in their delayed restart to the A-League season making it three in a row.

Having been forced to move to Sydney due to the lockdown in Melbourne, Victory were 2-0 down before Storm Roux gave hope with a goal seven minutes from time.

But it was not to be and the finals look out of reach for second from bottom Melbourne, who were being led by Grant Brebner for the first time after Carlos Salvachua returned to Europe.

Brisbane Roar Form

Brisbane Roar also relaunched their campaign with a defeat as Ken Ospoth's sixth minute goal was enough to earn Adelaide United a 1-0 win.

It was a losing debut in charge for Warren Moon, who replaced Robbie Fowler in charge at Roar after he opted not to return to Australia.

Fowler's departure came despite a run of three straight wins taking Brisbane to fourth on the ladder before the season was halted.

Melbourne Victory vs Brisbane Roar Head to Head

It has been one way traffic in recent head to heads with Victory winning the last four. That includes all three meetings last season as well as a 1-0 win in October this campaign thanks to Andrew Nabbout's goal.
