Head to Head

Melbourne Victory have won three of the last four matches against Perth Glory, and are unbeaten during that period.

The most recent match ended in a surprise 4-0 win for the struggling Victory in Round 25 last season. A Marcos Rojas double and goals from Andrew Nabbout and Eric Kamsoba sealed the win.

Melbourne Victory Form

After a season of struggle last year, Melbourne Victory have started this A-League campaign with back-to-back defeats.

Grant Brebner's side lost 3-1 to Brisbane Roar on January 2 and had a three-week wait for their next game against Adelaide United on Saturday.

They were on the wrong side of the result again as Mohamed Toure got the only goal of the game to hand the Reds a 1-0 victory at Coopers Stadium.

Victory had come into the season with high expectations after reaching the last 16 in the AFC Champions League.

Striker Rudy Gestede (hamstring) and midfielder Callum McManaman (ankle), who scored Victory's goal in the defeat to the Roar, will both miss the game through injury.

They join defender Nick Ansell (hamstring), young defender So Nishikawa (shoulder) and on loan forward Ben Folami (knee) on the absentee list.

Youngsters Brandon Lauton, Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio and Zaydon Bello have been added to the squad.

Perth Glory Form

Perth Glory have served up plenty of entertainment in two games in the last week to start their season in dramatic fashion.

Richard Garcia's side wasted no time in beginning their delayed season as they won 5-3 at home to Adelaide United last Wednesday.

Neil Kilkenny and doubles from strike duo Bruno Fornaroli and Nick D'Agostino earned an opening day win for the Glory.

But they were beaten 5-4 in a nine-goal thriller against Western United on Saturday. Eight of those goals came after the 56th minute.

Carlo Armiento got two for Perth and Fornaroli and D'Agostino were also on the mark again.

Perth Glory Team News

Diego Castro returns to the Perth Glory squad and could feature in the A-League for the first time since March.

Otherwise, it is an unchange squad for Richard Garcia to choose from. Youngster Carlo Armiento has impressed from the bench, but will have to wait for a first start.
