Melbourne City earned their second appearance in the AFC Champions League after landing the A-League premiership in 2022/23.

City finished as clear leaders on the ladder, but did lose the Grand Final in a heavy 6-1 defeat to the Central Coast Mariners.

The Japanese minnows are in the hunt for promotion to J1 League, sitting in seventh place in J2. They are two points outside of the play-off spots with seven games of the season remaining.

Most recently, Kofu were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Verdy last week. They have won just once in their last nine games in all competitions.
