Four days after drawing 4-4 in a crazy 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifier, Sierra Leone and Nigeria meet again at the National Stadium in Freetown on Tuesday. The Super Eagles led 4-0 in the first-half only to succumb to a second-half comeback from Sierra Leone in the Group L clash.

Sierra Leone Form

Sierra Leone found themselves 4-0 down after 29 minutes in Nigeria, but staged a miraculous comeback with Kwame Quee, Mustapha Bundu and an Alhaji Kamara double sealing an unlikely point.

John Keister's side looked to have started their campaign with a win over Lesotho thanks to Kwame Quee's 70th minute goal. But they conceded a last minute equaliser as substitute Jane Thabantso levelled for a 1-1 draw at the National Stadium in Freetown.

Sierra Leone slipped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Benin days later in November last year with Jodel Dossou's first-half goal proving to be the difference between the sides at the Stade Charles de Gaulle in Porto-Novo.

Sierra Leone also lost two friendlies played in October this year. They went down 2-1 to Mauritania despite a goal from Crespo, and lost 1-0 to Niger. Can they now build on the comeback point against Nigeria?

Sierra Leone Team News

Alhaji Kamara is pushing for a starting place after his two-goal heroics last week. Mustapha Bundu also scored after coming on from the bench.

MLS star Augustine Williams is hopeful of making his international debut after the LA Galaxy was an unused substitute in the first game.

Captain Umaru Bangura should be free to play in Freetown after the defender missed last week's game.

Nigeria Form

Nigeria threw away victory with a poor performance in the second-half against Sierra Leone last week. Goals from Alex Iwobi (two), Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze put Nigeria 4-0 up after 29 minutes, only for a capitulation to draw 4-4.

Gernot Rohr's side started the qualification campaign with back-to-back victories over Benin Republic and Lesotho in November last year to sit top of Group L.

Nigeria came from a goal down to beat Benin with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Bordeaux midfielder Samuel Kalu sealing a 2-1 victory at the Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo.

Rohr will be expecting a reaction to the second-half display at home to Sierra Leone when they head to Freetown.

Nigeria Team News

Nigeria have been dealt a blow with top scorer Victor Osimhen ruled out after suffering a suspected dislocated shoulder late in the draw last week. Kelechi Ịheanachọ is expected to take his place in the starting line-up.

Nigeria were already without Midtjylland midfielder Frank Onyeka, Nantes winger Moses Simon and Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo.
