Nouhoum Diané’s side beat Burkina Faso 1-0 with Siaka Bagayoko scoring the winner. Mali then drew 1-1 against hosts Cameroon thanks to Issaka Samake’s equaliser.

Mali ended the group stage with a 1-0 win against Zimbabwe in Douala. Demba Diallo opened the scoring in the 11th minute.

Mali beat Congo in a penalty shootout in the quarter-finals with the match ending 0-0 after extra time. It was another solid defensive performance, their 3rd clean sheet in 4 matches in the tournament.

Guinea Form

Guinea topped Group D ahead of Zambia, Tanzania and Namibia. 

They beat Namibia 3-0 in their opening match with Yakhouba Barry bagging a brace and Morlaye Sylla on target.

Mohamed Kanfory Bangoura's side drew 1-1 against Zambia after Victor Kantabadouna opened the scoring. 

Their final group game was a 2-2 draw against Tanzania. Barry opened the scoring and Kantabadouna equalised in the 82nd minute.

Guinea secured their place in the semi-finals with a 1-0 win against Rwanda at the Limbe Stadium. Morlaye Sylla opened the scoring in the second half after Mory Kante was sent off in the 11th minute.
