Mjallby are the most pleasant surprise package in the Allsvenskan this season, topping the table with 30 points after 13 rounds.

Anders Torstensson’s side has been in fantastic shape recently, recording four wins and one draw in their last five appearances.

This run started with three straight victories against Djurgarden 3-1, Brommapojkarna 1-0 and Hammarby 2-1 in the second half of May, followed by a 1-1 draw at Norrkoping.

Mjallby’s only appearance in June so far was before the international break, outplaying Varnamo 2-0 in front of the home crowd, Alexander Johansson scoring a brace in the second half.

Judging by the early days, Malmo will have problems defending the title in Sweden, grabbing just 22 points from 13 matches and sit in 5th place.

The Blue Ones had awful results in second half of May, failing to beat AIK Stockholm at home 0-0, then lost at Goteborg 1-0, while also being eliminated from the Swedish Cup after a 1-0 home defeat to Hacken.

Henrik Rydstrom’s men put an end to this poor run with a 3-0 home win against Hacken on 1st June, Johan Karlsson, Kenan Busuladzic and Isaac Kiese Thelin finding the net.

Jakob Killerich (broken finger) and Manasse Kusu (undisclosed injury) are going to miss this match for Mjallby.

As for the visitors, they will be without Johan Dahlin, Stefano Vecchia and Erik Botheim who are all injured.
