BATE Borisov and Dinamo Brest meet in the Belarusian Cup final on Sunday. BATE beat Dinamo 3-1 in Brest on Wednesday and are well placed to lift the cup in Minsk.

BATE Borisov are firing on all cylinders after a poor start to the season. They sit top of the Belarusian Premier League and have a great chance to win the Belarusian Cup.

BATE have won by 2+ goals in their last six matches in all competitions starting with a 2-0 win at Gorodeya. They hosted Slavia Mozyr in the Cup semifinal second leg and won 2-0 to advance to the final. 

Kirill Alshevskiy’s side won 3-1 at home against Neman Grodno and 5-3 at Smolevichy before a convincing 3-0 home win against Slutsk. Their last match was a 3-1 win at Dinamo Brest on Wednesday.

Stanislav Dragun opened the scoring and hit the post in the second half after Dinamo equalised. Pavel Nekhaychik restored their lead and Nemanja Milic came off the bench to secure victory with a fine solo goal.

The defending champions have been inconsistent this season and on a poor run of form. Dinamo have lost five of their last seven matches in all competitions. 

Sergey Kovalchuk’s side lost three straight matches including a 4-2 defeat at Shakhtyor in the Belarus Cup semifinal second leg. Dinamo got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory at Belshina and a 2-1 home win against Dinamo Minsk.

Dinamo Brest lost 2-1 at Energetyk-BGU with Sergey Kislyak scoring a late consolation goal. They fell to a 3-1 home defeat to BATE Borisov on Wednesday. 

Artem Milevskyi equalised in the 40th minute and Pavel Savitskiy missed a great chance to put Dinamo ahead in the 72nd minute. They were made to pay, conceding goals in the 73rd and 80th minutes.

Central defender Yevhen Khacheridi is available after a long league suspension. Forward Denis Laptev came off the bench in Minsk and started on Wednesday.

Attacking midfielder Elis Bakaj will miss the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament rupture.
