Dinamo Brest vs Shakhter Soligorsk Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Dinamo Brest face familiar opponents Shakhter Soligorsk at OSK Brestsky Stadium on Saturday. The defending champions have defensive players missing for this one and could be content with a draw.

Dinamo Brest Form

Dinamo Brest won their first Belarusian Premier League title last season after losing only one of their 30 matches. Manager Sergey Kovalchuk took over in December and won the Belarus Super Cup with a 2-0 win against Saturday’s opponents Shakhter.

Dinamo drew 1-1 at home against Smolevichi and registered their first league win after a 1-0 victory at Slutsk thanks to Artem Milevskyi. Kovalchuk’s side suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Slavia Mozyr but rebounded by beating Shakhter 2-0 at home in the Belarus Cup.

Oleksandr Noyok and Pavel Savitskiy scored inside the opening 13 minutes with two well worked goals.

Dinamo Brest followed up in the league with a 3-1 home win against Isloch. They fell behind but it was familiar faces on the score sheet with Kiki Gabi, Artem Milevskyi and Pavel Savitskiy on target.

Dinamo’s last match didn’t go to plan after a 1-0 defeat at Vitebsk. They conceded a needless penalty late on and saw centre backs Kiki Gabi and Yevgen Khacheridi sent off.

Dinamo Brest News

Attacking midfielder Sergey Krivets and striker Evgeni Shevchenko got their first starts of the season at Vitebsk. Dinamo continue to look for a replacement for attacking midfielder Elis Bakaj who will miss the entire season with a cruciate ligament injury.

Left back Kirill Pechenin regained his starting spot with Maksim Vitus unavailable. He lasted only 23 minuted before being replaced by Oleg Veretilo.

Midfielder Artem Bykov sustained an injury against Isloch and could return here.

Central defence is a big issue. Kiki Gabi and Yevgen Khacheridi are suspended while Dénis Duarte and Georgios Katsikas haven’t featured this season. Aleksandr Pavlovets will line up in the heart of defence with Oleksandr Noyok and Sergey Kislyak options to start alongside him.

Shakhter Soligorsk Form

Shakhter Soligorsk started the 2020 Belarusian Premier League season with a 1-0 home defeat to Torpedo but bounced back with a 2-0 win at Gorodeya. Yurii Vernydub’s side then drew 0-0 at home against Neman Grodno after hitting the post twice.

A 2-0 defeat to Dinamo Brest  in the Belarus Cup followed before a 0-0 draw at Smolevichi. They created more chances but were guilty of poor finishing.

Shakhter’s last match was a 2-1 home defeat to Slutsk. They started the match strong with Darko Bodul smashing the bar but went behind after goalkeeper Aleksandr Gutor misjudged a free kick.

Bodul saw a penalty saved in the 53rd minute with Slutsk reduced to 10 men. Shakhter finally equalised through an 88th minute own goal but were unable find an equaliser.

Shakhter Soligorsk News

Left Back Nikola Antic continues to recover from injury, right back Sergey Matveychik has been training with the club’s reserve team after falling out of favour.

Centre back is an issue with Sergey Politevich suspended and Aleksandr Sachivko is doubtful. Ruslan Khadarkevich returned to the starting side against Slutsk and will line up in central defence.

Georgian winger Lasha Shindagoridze sustained a serious knee injury against Smolevichi and could be out for some time.

Giorgi Diasamidze was hooked for Vitali Lisakovich at half time against Slutsk which could see Lisakovich start up front with Darko Bodul.

Dinamo Brest have huge concerns in central defence with Kiki Gabi suspended alongside Yevgen Khacheridi. Dénis Duarte and Georgios Katsikas both injured and yet to feature this season. Aleksandr Pavlovets is the only natural central defender available.

Shakhter Soligorsk created chances in recent weeks but haven’t been able to take them. They should have plenty of opportunities against a weakened Dinamo defence.
