Gorodeya vs Dinamo Minsk Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Gorodeya are in dangerous territory as they host Dinamo Minsk at Gorodeya Stadium. The hosts are battling off field problems and could struggle against a rejuvenated Dinamo side.

Gorodeya Form

Gorodeya lost their final two matches in 2019 and started 2020 with two straight defeats. Oleg Radushko’s side fell to a disappointing 1-0 loss at Vitebsk on opening day after the hosts were reduced to 10 men on the stroke of half time.

Gorodeya then lost 2-0 at home against Shakhtyor. They barely threatened in attack and were lucky to lose by just two goals.

They traveled to lowly Belshina last week where Gorodeya picked up their first win of the season. It was a poor game until Lazar Sajcic came off the bench and scored with a free kick, the visitors looking shaky in the closing stages but just holding on.

Gorodeya News

Artem Arkhipov remains stranded in Russia which is a big blow after the forward scored eight goals in 13 appearances last season. His brother Sergey Arkhipov should continue to lead the line.

New signing Mikhail Shibun got his first start at Belshina with central midfielder Denis Yaskovich continuing in the starting side. Holding midifielder Yuri Volovik remains sidelined due to injury.

Manager Oleg Radushko recently confirmed that the players haven’t been paid for the last two months which is likely to damage morale.

Dinamo Minsk Form

Dinamo Minsk were knocked out of the Belarus Cup by BATE Borisov and lost their opening two matches in the Belarusian Premier League. Sergey Gurenko’s side started with a 1-0 home defeat against Ruh Brest.

Dinamo then traveled across town to take on Minsk that resulted in a 3-2 defeat. Dinamo were down 1-0 after 55 seconds and trailed 3-0 at half time, it looked all over in the 58th minute when Miha Goropevsek was sent off.

Dinamo Minsk fought back with a man down however, Evgeni Shikavka’s penalty and Ivan Bakhar’s strike giving them hope but they couldn’t find an equaliser.

Dinamo Minsk bounced back with a 2-0 home win against Torpedo BelAZ. Vladislav Klimovich opened the scoring and Karlo Brucic finished at the back post after Dominik Dinga’s header was saved.

Danilo and Brucic had chances to extend the lead but it was a solid performance and they fully deserved all three points.

Dinamo Minsk News

Dinamo Minsk brought in more than 10 players in the winter transfer window and it looks like things are starting to click. Defender Miha Goropevsek returns from suspension here after a red card on debut.

Talented 21-year-old forward Ivan Bakhar arrived from Minsk in January and led the line last week. He is forming a productive partnership with Vladislav Klimovich and Danilo up front.

Gorodeya vs Dinamo Minsk Match Up

Gorodeya were reliant on Artem Arkhipov’s goals last season and he is unavailable here. Gorodeya have failed to score in three of their last four Belarusian Premier League matches and it’s hard to see where the goals will come from.

With manager Oleg Radushko revealing the players haven’t been paid for two months, a negative run of form would be no surprise.

Dinamo Minsk’s defence was solid last week and their attack appeared dangerous. Could that be the turning point for the club?
