AS Vita vs Raja Casablanca Match Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips
AS Vita look set for a home win as they host Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca at the Stade de Martyrs de la Pentecote in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final. The Congolese team are excellent in front of their fans and are tipped to secure the victory.
AS Vita Club Form & Team News
AS Vita are having a strong season as they are fourth in the Congolese Super League after claiming five wins from their seven matches so far. Their good form has also served them well on the continent as they are playing in their first ever CAF Confederation Cup final.
Florent Ibenge's team however have a mountain to climb if they are to secure their first continental title since 1973. AS Vita suffered a 3-0 defeat in the first leg last week and will be banking on an impressive home record as they seek to overturn the deficit on Sunday.
Striker Jean-Marc Makusu has been the stand out player for Vita in the competition having scored 10 goals so far. The 26-year-old failed to find the net in Morocco but is still a major threat and should start in attack on Sunday alongside Ducapel Moloko.
Raja Casablanca Form & Team News
Raja appear to have sacrificed their domestic form for a solid campaign on the continent as they are currently 10th in the Moroccan League having claimed just two wins from five matches. The trade off seems to be a smart decision with Raja just one match away from lifting the CAF Confederation Cup.
Juan Carlos Garrido’s team hold a hefty advantage going into Sunday's clash having secured a 3-0 victory in the first leg last week. Raja were dominant throughout the contest as a brace from Soufiane Rahimi and a penalty from Mahmoud Benhalib earned them a comfortable win.
The Moroccans will be without Mouhssine Iajour after the striker was shown a red card late in the first leg. However, top scorer Benhalib will be looking to add to his 12 goals in the competition so far while Rahimi is also set to feature following his brace last weekend.
AS Vita vs Raja Casablanca Head-to-Head
There have been three previous matches involving AS Vita and Raja Casablanca with the wins evenly split at one apiece. Both teams featured in the same group during the round robin stage of the competition as the Congolese outfit earned a goalless draw in Morocco before claiming a 2-0 win at home in the reverse fixture.
As Vita vs Raja Casablanca Match Up
Vita are looking to overturn a heavy deficit on Sunday and as such are expected to play on the front foot. Makusu and Moloko often combine well up front and will be tasked with carrying the attacking threat for the hosts.
Having secured a solid advantage in the first leg, Raja may adopt a slightly conservative approach. They are likely to sit deep and look to break with the pace of Rahimi and Benhalib.
