Enyimba vs CARA Brazzaville Previews & Betting Tips

Enyimba welcome CARA Brazzaville to the Enyimba International Stadium for their final Group C fixture in the CAF Confederation Cup. They hosts are playing in Aba for the first time in this year’s competition and should claim a win in front of their home fans.

The Peoples Elephant breathed life into their campaign after claiming their first away win of the competition at Malian club Djoliba last time out. They needed a late penalty from Farouk Mohammed to secure a 1-0 victory.

The result moved the Nigerian club to second in the standings and they could finish as group winners with victory on Wednesday. Usman Abdallah’s team will have the added boost of being back at their legendary home ground in Aba after playing their previous CAF Confederation Cup matches in Calabar and Port Harcourt.

Abdallah has a fully fit squad of players to choose from and could make several changes to the team that faced Djoliba. Freedom Omofoma could be restored to the line-up after sitting out the clash in Mali while Stanley Dimgba, Abdulrahman Bashir and captain Mfon Udoh are also expected to feature.

CARA Brazaville

CARA were impressive in their previous outing in the competition as they outclassed Williamsville of Ivory Coast. Goals from Glen Kinfounia, Cabwey Kivutuka and Christ Ngoma helped the Congolese club secure a 3-1 victory.

Jaques Ontsira’s men are currently top of the standings, level on nine points with the hosts and can secure a place in the knockout phase if they avoid defeat on Wednesday. They can however still progress with a defeat if Williamsville fail to beat Djoliba in the group’s other fixture.

There are no major injuries and suspension in the CARA squad and Ontsira is expected to name a similar team to the one that faced Williamsville. Kinfounia, Kivutuka and Ngoma are likely to feature after all three attackers got on the score sheet in the previous fixture.

The only previous meeting between Enyimba and CARA was the first leg of this tie in Brazzaville which ended 3-0 in favour of the Congolese club.

Despite their many troubles this season, Enyimba have maintained a bit of solidity at the back thanks to Ifeanyi Anaemena and Isiaka Oladuntoye. Both men have guided the Elephants to four clean sheets in seven matches on the continent and should hold out against Kinfounia and Kivutuka.

At the other end, the hosts will be looking to Bashir, Dimgba and Udoh for goals. All three men will trouble Danga Chancy and Cerveli Epoyo at the back for CARA.
