Canada and Bosnia & Herzegovina are set to meet for the first time in Toronto, both coming off a series of low-scoring games. Canada has seen under 2.5 goals in nine of their last ten matches, while Bosnia & Herzegovina have matched this trend in their past five games. Both sides have struggled offensively in recent friendlies, suggesting another tight match is likely. The best bet recommended is 'Under 2.5 Goals', with a predicted odds of 1.70. Expect a tactical and disciplined showdown.

A big majority of Canada’s international friendlies ended with a low number of goals. Bosnia & Herzegovina lacked creativity in their recent games too, so I am backing under 2.5 as the best bet in Toronto.

Key Stats

  • Canada have seen under 2.5 goals in 9 of their last 10 matches.
  • Bosnia & Herzegovina have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 5 matches.

This is going to be the first head to head meeting between Canada and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Canada Tagged Favorites

Canada have failed to impress in their international friendlies in 2026, starting the year with a narrow 1-0 win over minnow Guatemala, while recording back to back draws against Iceland 2-2 and Tunisia 0-0 in late March.

Earlier this month, the Reds ended their winless run with a 2-0 home victory against another WC 2026 participant Uzbekistan. It took them 58 minutes to break the deadlock here with Jonathan Osorio finding the net, while the final score was set by Jayden Nelson in stoppage time.

In their last test match, Canada locked horns against Republic of Ireland who used experimental lineup with a lot of debutants and had to settle for a 1-1 draw. They had 1.31-1.56 xG and 2-3 shots on target.

Dragons Making Their Second World Cup Appearance

Bosnia & Herzegovina had a heroic run in the World Cup 2026 qualifying playoffs where they were labelled underdogs in the semifinals against Wales. Edin Dzeko saved them with a late header in Cardiff, forcing extra time before winning 4-2 on penalties.

Sergej Barbarez’s side then hosted favored Italy in Zenica in the playoff final, trailed for 79 minutes before Tabakovic found an equalizer. They eventually secured qualification with a 4-1 penalty shootout victory.

The Dragons failed to impress in their June friendlies though, starting with a goalless draw against North Macedonia in Sarajevo, followed by a 1-1 draw against Panama last week in St Louis. Defender Nikola Katic was the sole scorer for Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Team News & Predicted Lineups

Canada (4-2-3-1) Maxime Crepeau; Alistair Johnston, Moise Bombito, Kamal Miller, Richie Laryea; Stephen Eustaquio, Ismael Kone; Tajon Buchanan, Jonathan David, Alphonso Davies; Cyle Larin

Moise Bombito and Alphonso Davies have recently recovered from serious injuries but the latest reports state them as fit anough for the starting lineup. Jonathan David and Cyle Larin are expected to lead the offense, this duo netting a total of 69 goals for the national team.

Bosnia & Herzegovina (4-4-2) Nikola Vasilj; Amar Dedic, Dennis Hadzikadunic, Nikola Katic, Sead Kolasinac; Ivan Sunjic, Benjamin Tahirovic; Esmir Bajraktarevic, Amir Hadziahmetovic; Ermedin Demirovic, Edin Dzeko

Edin Dzeko is expected to make his 149th appearance for the national team. This legendary striker led Schalke to 2. Bundesliga title this season and scored 73 goals for the national team. Haris Tabakovic, one of the playoff heroes, travelled to North America despite suffering a serious injury for Borussia Monchengladbach in the final Bundesliga round. Latest reports state he might be ready for 3rd group match later this month. PSV's winger Esmir Bajraktarevic is the player to watch here, carrying strong one-on-one potential.

Verdict

Nine out of Canada’s last ten games ended under 2.5 goals. Bosnia & Herzegovina are expected to place a lot of focus on defending here, so I don’t think we will get a lot of action in Toronto.
