The USA trashed Trinidad and Tobago 5-0 in the Gold Cup opener. They were less convincing in a 1-0 win against Saudi Arabia and a 2-1 victory over Haiti in Group D.

Mauricio Pochettino’s outfit were held to a 2-2 draw with quarter-final opponents Costa Rica before winning 4-3 on penalties.

The Stars and Stripes edged Guatemala 2-1 in the semi-final. Diego Luna scored two early goals before the USA faced 20 shots and conceded in the 80th minute.

The Latin American nation have won four of five matches at the 2025 tournament and conceded just two goals. Mexico ended the group stage with a 0-0 draw with Costa Rica before beating Saudi Arabia 2-0.

The Tricolours defeated Honduras 1-0 in the semi-final. Javier Aguirre’s side had 1.26-0.1 XG and Raul Jimenez struck a second-half winner.
