Argentina’s attack deserves respect but Colombia are their biggest test yet at Copa America. Lionel Messi and his side are backed to qualify in extra time.

Argentina haven’t lost since July 2019, a run of 18 consecutive matches. 

Lionel Scaloni’s side drew 1-1 against Chile in their opening match at Copa America. They recorded 1-0 victories against Uruguay and Paraguay before turning on the style.

La Albiceleste won 4-1 win against Bolivia. Lionel Messi assisted Papu Gómez for the opener, scored twice himself with Lautaro Martínez coming off the bench to bag the fourth.

Argentina’s last match was a 3-0 win against Ecuador in the quarter-finals. Lionel Messi hit the post, assisted Rodrigo de Paul and Lautaro Martínez before a late free kick capped off another match winning performance.

Giovani Lo Celso was fit enough to start against Ecuador. 

Scaloni is unlikely to make many changes here. Papu Gómez could replace Nicolás González and Lautaro Martinez will hope to hold his spot ahead of Sergio Aguero.

Reinaldo Rueda replaced Carlos Queiroz as manager in January with La Tricolor going undefeated in his first four matches in charge.

Rueda guided Colombia to a 3-0 win in Peru and a 2-2 draw against Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers.

Colombia began Copa America with a 1-0 victory against Ecuador. They drew 0-0 against Venezuela after having 65% possession and 23-2 shots.

La Tricolor lost 2-1 against Peru and finished the group stage with a 2-1 win against Brazil. Luis Díaz opening the scoring before they conceded twice in the final 12 minutes.

Colombia got past Uruguay in a penalty shootout to reach the semi-finals. They battled hard for a 0-0 draw after extra time, scoring all four spot kicks with David Ospina making two saves.

Left back Yairo Moreno picked up an injury against Ecuador and has been replaced by William Tesillo.
