Argentina cruised through the group stage at Copa America, starting with a regulation 2-0 victory against Canada after Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez found the net.

Lionel Scaloni’s side kept the momentum going with a 1-0 win over Chile, Martínez scoring off the bench for the second straight game. They beat Peru 2-0, Martínez getting a start and scoring both goals.

La Albiceleste got past Ecuador in the quarter-finals after Lisandro Martínez gave them a half-time lead. They conceded in the 91st minute before holding their nerve to win the penalty shootout. 

Argentina met Canada again in the semi-finals and recorded another 2-0 win. Julián Álvarez opened the scoring and Lionel Messi wrapped it up with his first goal at the tournament.

Colombia started Copa America with a 2-1 win against Paraguay. James Rodríguez assisted Daniel Muñoz and Jefferson Lerma in the first half and they held on in an even game.

Néstor Lorenzo saw his side thrash Costa Rica 3-0 after having 5-0 shots on target. Luis Díaz opened the scoring from the penalty spot with Davinson Sánchez and Jhon Córdoba netting in the second half.

La Tricolor held Brazil to a 1-1 draw which secured top spot in Group D. Rodríguez hit the woodwork before they fell behind, Daniel Muñoz equalising on the stroke of half-time to earn a deserved point.

Colombia thrashed Panama 5-0 in the quarter-finals, Rodríguez man of the match with a goal and two assists. They were involved in a dramatic 1-0 semi-final victory over Uruguay, Lerma on target and holding on after Daniel Muñoz was sent off in the 46th minute.
