Colombia have an 18-6 advantage against Venezuela with 15 draws in 39 matches.

Colombia Form

Colombia are undefeated in 2021 with two wins and a draw in three games. Reinaldo Rueda replaced Carlos Queiroz as manager in January and is turning things around.

Rueda guided La Tricolor to a 3-0 win in Peru in his first match in charge. They then 2-2 draw against Argentina, coming back from being 2-0 down after 8 minutes.

Colombia started Copa America with a 1-0 win against Ecuador. Edwin Cardona scored the winner just before half time.

Colombia Squad & Team News

Goalkeepers: David Ospina, Camilo Vargas, Aldair Quintana
Defenders: Davinson Sánchez, Yerry Mina, Stefan Medina, Óscar Murillo, William Tesillo, Jhon Lucumí, Daniel Muñoz, Carlos Cuesta
Midfielders: Juan Cuadrado, Edwin Cardona, Wílmar Barrios, Mateus Uribe, , Gustavo Cuéllar, Sebastián Pérez, Yairo Moreno, Baldomero Perlaza
Forwards: Luis Muriel, Duván Zapata, Luis Díaz, Miguel Borja, Alfredo Morelos, Yimmi Chará, Rafael Santos Borré, Juan Ferney Otero, Jaminton Campaz

Jefferson Lerma, James Rodríguez and Radamel Falcao are all injured and were left out of the squad.

Left back Yairo Moreno picked up an injury against Ecuador and was replaced by William Tesillo. Centre back Óscar Murillo was taken off late and replaced by Davinson Sánchez who could start here.

Rafael Santos Borré and Miguel Borja started up front, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Atalanta duo Luis Muriel and Duván Zapata start against Venezuela.

Venezuela Form

Venezuela lost their first three World Cup qualifiers without scoring a goal. They snapped the run with a 2-1 home win against Chile, Salomon Rondón scoring the winner in the 81st minute.

José Peseiro’s side lost 3-1 in Bolivia before a 0-0 draw against Uruguay. They scored just three goals in six World Cup qualifiers.

Venezuela started Copa America with a 3-0 defeat against Brazil.
