Head to Head

Paraguay have a 13-12 advantage against Peru with 11 draws in 36 matches.

Peru Form

Peru lost four of their previous five matches before Copa America. It wasn’t looking good after they started the tournament with a 4-0 defeat against Brazil.

Ricardo Gareca’s side bounced back with a 2-1 win against Colombia, Sergio Peña opening the scoring before an own goal put them back in front.

La Blanquirroja then drew 2-2 against Ecuador, coming back from 2-0 down at half time. Gianluca Lapadula scored and assisted André Carrillo for the equaliser.

Peru’s last match was a 1-0 win against Venezuela. It was a close contest with Carrillo scoring the winner from close range in the 48th minute.

Peru Squad & Team News

Goalkeepers: Pedro Gallese, José Carvallo, Carlos Cáceda
Defenders: Luis Abram, Aldo Corzo, Anderson Santamaría, Miguel Araujo, Miguel Trauco, Christian Ramos, Marcos López, Alexander Callens, Renzo Garcés, Jhilmar Lora
Midfielders: Martín Távara, Sergio Peña, Christian Cueva, Renato Tapia, Wilder Cartagena, André Carrillo, Yoshimar Yotún, Alexis Arias, Raziel García
Forwards: Gianluca Lapadula, Alex Valera, Luis Iberico, Santiago Ormeño

Centre back Alexander Callens picked up an injury against Venezuela and is doubtful. His likely replacement is Luis Abram.

André Carrillo has scored in his last two matches for Peru.

Paraguay Form

Paraguay are undefeated in 10 of their last 13 matches with five draws in their last 11 games.

La Albirroja beat Bolivia 3-1 in their first match at Copa America. They then suffered a 1-0 defeat against Argentina, falling behind in the 10th minute and fighting back but unable to find an equaliser.

Eduardo Berizzo’s side won 2-0 against Chile, playing well with Miguel Almirón assisting Braian Samudio for the opener before scoring a second half penalty.

Paraguay’s last match was a 1-0 defeat against Uruguay. They struggled to create chances, conceding an early penalty and unable to find a way back.

Paraguay Squad & Team News

Goalkeepers: Antony Silva, Alfredo Aguilar, Gerardo Ortíz
Defenders: Gustavo Gómez (captain), Júnior Alonso, Fabián Balbuena, Santiago Arzamendia, Robert Rojas, Omar Alderete, Alberto Espínola, David Martínez
Midfielders: Óscar Romero, Miguel Almirón, Richard Sánchez, Mathías Villasanti, Robert Piris Da Motta, Gastón Giménez, Ángel Cardozo, Jorge Morel, Andrés Cubas, Braian Ojeda
Forwards: Ángel Romero, Alejandro Gamarra, Antonio Bareiro, Braian Samudio, Gabriel Ávalos, Carlos González, Julio Enciso

Ángel Cardozo Lucena remains doubtful which should see Gastón Giménez continue in central midfield.

Miguel Almirón picked up an injury against Uruguay. His loss would be a blow with Óscar Romero his likely replacement.

Carlos González is a chance to replace Gabriel Ávalos up front.
