Brian Priske's side defeated FC Copenhagen 4-0, Aarhus 2-1, Vejle 2-0 and ended 2020 with a 3-1 win over Nordsjaelland.

Midtjylland also recorded Danish Cup wins over Koge (1-0) and FC Copenhagen on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Midtjylland have brought in Brazilian left-back Ailton from Stuttgart in the transfer window, and signed experienced goalkeeper Jonas Lössl from Everton.

There have been a number of departures with defenders Nikolas Dyhr, Manjrekar James and Sören Reese all leaving the club.

Midfielders Kaan Kairinen (Lillestrom) and Bozhidar Kraev (Famalicao) have also been allowed to leave. Forward Mayron George has moved to Pau in Ligue 2 in France.

Young defender Oliver Olsen is a doubt and unlikely to feature. Brazilian forward Junior Brumado is out with injury.

Sonderjyske Form

The winter break came at the right time for Sonderjyske after they lost three of their last four matches in the Superliga.

Glen Riddersholm's side lost to FC Copehagen 3-1, Brondby 2-1 and Randers 1-0 in their final game of the year.

Sandwiched in between was a 2-1 victory over Nordsjaelland.

Sonderjyske did progress to the semi-finals of the Danish Cup with a 2-1 extra-time win over Lyngby.

Right-back Alexander Bah has left the club in the transfer window to join Slavia Prague. Defensive midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has been released.

Sonderjyske have signed Swedish full-back Emil Holm from IFK Goteborg to replace Bah.

The visitors will be without midfielder Mads Hansen through injury and forward Haji Wright through suspension.
