Wimbledon vs Wigan Predictions

Wigan's best form has come away from home, while Wimbledon have been unable to turn Plough Lane into a fortress. They have lost six of their last seven home matches.

Wigan have improved of late and are tipped to move out of the relegation zone with a third straight win.

  • AFC Wimbledon have lost 6 of their last 7 home matches (League One).
  • Wigan have won their last 2 matches (League One).
  • Wigan have won 2 of their last 3 away matches (League One).

Head-to-Head

These two sides have met three times and it is all square with one win each and one draw.

The most recent meeting ended in a 3-2 win for AFC Wimbledon last month.

Jack Rudoni and a Joe Pigott put the Dons 2-0 up before Wigan levelled through Curtis Tilt and Jamie Proctor. Pigott then won it for Wimbledon from the penalty spot.

AFC Wimbledon Form

AFC Wimbledon's winless run was extended to five games when they played out a 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

It was a third draw in four games for Mark Robinson's side following 1-1 stalemates with Shrewbury and Blackpool.

They were all away games, while sandwiched in between was a 1-0 home defeat to Burton. They also lost 3-0 at home to leaders Hull during the recent run.

It is a run of results that has seen Wimbledon slip to the foot of the League One table.

AFC Wimbledon Team News

Goalkeeper Sam Walker missed the weekend draw and Nik Tzanev looks set to deputise once again.

Defender Will Nightingale and midfielder Callum Reilly started in place Ben Heneghan and Ryan Longman and should retain their places.

Ollie Palmer and Ryan Longman both made an impact as substitutes against Bristol Rovers and could be handed starts.

Wigan Form

Back-to-back wins have lifted Wigan off the bottom of League One, but they remain in the relegation zone.

Goals from Viv Solomon-Otabor and Curtis Tilt earned a 2-0 win over Plymouth a week ago.

It followed a hugely impressive 3-0 win over MK Dons at home in which George Johnston, Callum Lang and Joe Dodoo were all on the scoresheet.

Leam Richardson's side have been a far better side of the road this season, suffering just three defeats in their last 10 away games.

Wigan Team News

Defender Scott Wootton missed the win over parent club Plymouth due to his loan agreement. George Johnston could make way.

Lee Evans returned from a three-month absence in Wootton's place and should retain his place after a week between games.
