Colchester vs Bradford Predictions

Colchester and Bradford have struggled to win in recent weeks but have picked up points through draws. I am tipping a low scoring draw in League Two on Saturday.

  • Colchester have drawn 3 of their last 4 matches (League Two).
  • Colchester are winless in their last 6 matches (League Two).
  • Colchester have seen under 2.5 goals in 3 of their last 4 matches (League Two).
  • Colchester and Bradford have drawn 4 of their last 6 matches (all competitions).
  • Colchester and Bradford have seen under 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 7 matches (all competitions).
  • Bradford are winless in their last 5 matches (League Two).
  • Bradford have seen under 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 6 matches (League Two).

Head to Head

In 35 meetings between the two sides, Colchester have a 14-8-win advantage over Bradford with 13 games drawn.

The reverse fixture at Valley Parade ended 0-0, the third goalless draw between the two sides in their last six meetings. Four of the last six matches have also ended in a draw.

Colchester Form

Colchester bounced back from a 2-0 loss to Port Vale last Saturday and drew 2-2 at home to Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday evening.

Colchester scored an early double in the first half but conceded two in the second period.

Wayne Brown’s side has drawn three of their last four matches in League two, and recorded successive 0-0 results against Grimsby and Salford recently.

Colchester are winless in six straight matches and have one win in their last 21 in League Two, a run that has left the U’s just seven points off the relegation places.

Colchester Injuries & Team News

Defender Omar Sowunmi and midfielder Tom Lapsile could return this weekend from respective injuries.

Wayne Browne made two changes to his side for the 2-2 draw to Tranmere.

Courtney Senior is likely to replace Noah Chilvers in midfield after a poor performance.

Bradford Form

Bradford were unable to build on a solid 0-0 draw against Oldham last Saturday and lost 2-0 away to Scunthorpe on Tuesday evening.

The result extended Bradford’s winless run to five games in League Two, which has taken them from play-off hopefuls to mid-table.

Bradford are winless in their last three away matches and failed to build on back to back wins over Walsall and Cheltenham in late February.

The Bantams have also drawn two and failed to score in their last three matches away at Colchester.

Bradford Injuries & Team News

Midfielder Callum Cooke and winger Zeli Ismail are ruled out.

Billy Clarke, midfielder, could return from injury this weekend.

Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars made two changes for their loss against Scunthorpe.

Verdict

With Colchester and Bradford in poor form a draw is likely. In recent meetings, there have been few goals between the sides and plenty of low scoring draws.
