Coventry City vs Blackpool Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Coventry City and Blackpool have both been early pace setters in the English League One this season. Both teams are unbeaten and odds on it staying that way and the match ending in a draw are available at 3.30 with bet365.

Coventry City Form & Team News

Coventry City have had a strong start to their League One Season. Mark Robins’s side are unbeaten in their six home fixtures, having won three and drawn three. Their most recent game was a thrilling 3-3 draw with Oxford United with Zain Westbrooke, Matt Godden and Callum O’Hare grabbing the goals.

Coventry may have been forced to move home to Birmingham this summer but their form hasn’t been affected. The Sky Blues are unbeaten in six league matches when playing at home and have settled into St Andrews nicely.

Manager Mark Robins has been consistent with his starting 11 in the last few weeks. Matt Godden has started upfront and has been supported by Wesley Jobello and Jordie Hiwula-Mayifuila. Deadline day signing Liam Walsh could also be handed a cameo from the bench.

Coventry are priced at odds of 2.15 with bet365 to pick up the victory in this match, This presents punters with some value but a draw at odds of 3.30 is my tip for the match.

Blackpool Form & Team News

Blackpool have been one of the biggest surprises in League One this season. The Seasiders share an identical record with Coventry and find themselves one place higher than them in the table because they have conceded one less goal.

Simon Grayson’s side started their season with three consecutive wins but have drawn their last three matches. Their last outing saw them earn a 1-1 draw away at Blackpool, Armand Gnanduillet cancelling out an opener from Portsmouth’s Marcus Harness to secure the point.

The old adage that to get promoted you need to win at home and draw away resonates with Blackpool. The Lancashire club have managed to draw four of their last six away games, with Portsmouth being their most recent.

Simon Grayson is likely to keep with Armand Gnanduillet upfront for Blackpool on Saturday. The French striker has scored four goals in six games for the team so far. Sully Kakai is likely to have an impact for the side cutting inside from the right, whille Oliver Turton and Ryan Edwards have been formidable at the back. Blackpool are priced at 3.40 to pick up the victory in this match with bet365.

Coventry City vs Blackpool Head to Head

A frustrating 91st minute winner let two of these down for what would have been a big return. Coventry now look like the side to beat in League One going forward.
