2019/20 EFL League One Relegation Predictions, Betting Odds & Tips

After the excitement of last season’s League One relegation battle, things look to be a little less interesting this season. Bury and Bolton’s current financial positions and the fact they are starting the season with a points deductions mean that they will likely occupy the division’s bottom two spots.

EFL League One Relegation Tips- Bristol Rovers and Southend United

The likely relegation of Bury and Bolton means that there will be two positions left in the relegation zone. Wycombe, Wimbledon and Accrington are all fancied for the drop but Bristol Rovers could turn out to be an excellent value bet at 5.50.

The Gasheads were saved from the drop last season by some excellent management by Graham Coughlan, but it remains to be seen if the former Plymouth and Shrewsbury defender has what it takes to guide them to safety over a full season. His lack of experience may catch up with him.

While Bristol Rovers have not suffered any major casualties over the summer, there is still a chance that they will lose top goalscorer Jonson Clarke Harris. If that happens, you can expect their odds to plummet.

As for Southend, Kevin Bond’s men stayed up by the skin of their teeth at the end of the last campaign thanks to a surprise 2-1 win over Sunderland. A fairly quiet summer and a squad that is lacking in depth suggests they will be battling against the drop once again this season.

If they get off to a rough start, then it could be a long fight ahead for Kevin Bond's men who will need to seriously improve on their form from the end of last season to survive.

Both Bristol Rovers and Southend United's lack of squad depth could see them face the drop this season.
