Fleetwood Town host high-flying Hull City in EFL League One at Highbury Stadium on Friday night. Hull have started life back in the third tier with four straight wins, Fleetwood have lost three in a row since winning their season opener.

Fleetwood showed no hangover of missing out on promotion in the play-off final last season as they won their opening game. A 2-1 League One victory over Burton followed earlier EFL Trophy and Carabao Cup wins over Carlisle (3-1) and Wigan (3-2) repsectively.

But a run of four defeats in a row followed, three of them in League One to leave Joey Barton's side in the bottom four. They went down 2-1 at Peterborough, lost 1-0 at home to AFC Wimbledon and were beaten 2-1 by Rochdale last week.

Sandwiched in between those League One defeats was a heavy 5-2 loss at the hands of Everton in the Carabao Cup. Fleetwood did rediscover the winning habit on Tuesday with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa U21s in the EFL Trophy.

Joey Barton could consider changes to arrest the run of defeats in the league. Harvey Saunders caught the eye with a hat-trick in midweek and could be in the frame for a start.

Hull have made the perfect start to the League One season with four wins from four for Grant McCann's side. The Tigers are yet to concede a goal in the league and sit second behind only Lincoln City.

Following relegation from the Championship, Hull started life in League One with a 2-0 win at Gillingham. Another 2-0 away win at Northampton is sandwiched between two home 1-0 wins over Crewe and Plymouth.

In cup competitions, Hull reached the third round of the Carabao Cup after beating Sunderland and Leeds on penalties. They lost to West Ham 5-1, and also went down 2-1 to Leicester City U21s in the EFL Trophy.
