A place in the EFL Championship is up for grabs when Oxford and Wycombe clash in the League One Play-Off Final at Wembley on Monday.

Oxford are bidding to reach the second tier for the first time since 1999, while Wycombe are bidding for history and a first-ever season in the Championship. Who will be celebrating promotion?

Oxford United Form

Oxford needed a penalty shoot out to get the better of Portsmouth in their play-off semi-final. Both legs ended 1-1 and there was still little to split the sides after extra-time at the Kassam Stadium.

In the end, Simon Eastwood's save from Cameron McGehan's spot kick proved the different and sent Oxford through.

Karl Robinson's side earned their spot in the League One play-offs on the back of five straight victories before the season ended, and that became seven games unbeaten courtesy of the two 1-1 draws with Portsmouth.

Wycombe Form

Wycombe did the hard work in the semi-final first leg as the took advantage of two sendings off and some slack Fleetwood Town defending to win 4-1 at Highbury Stadium.

Gareth Ainsworth's side were able to soak up pressure in the secong leg and equalise late for a 2-2 draw that took them to Wembley and one step away from the Championship.

A run of eight defeats in 14 games saw Wycombe slip to third in the League One table before the season ended. Failure to secure an automatic promotion spot was put firmly aside as they kept the dream alive with a 6-3 aggregate victory over Fleetwood.

Oxford United vs Wycombe Head to Head

The two sides met once during the regular season with Oxford claiming a 1-0 win at the Kassam Stadium in December.

The 1-0 win came courtesy of James Henry's goal short before Wycombe were reduced to 10-men following a second yellow card for Adebayo Akinfenwa.

It made it five games unbeaten against Wycombe with Oxford having won four of those matches.

Oxford United vs Wycombe Odds

Oxford are firm favourites to end their wait for a return to the second tier. Bet365 make them 2.00 to win in 90 minutes and 1.53 to lift the trophy and earn promotion.

Wycombe are 3.75 outsiders to win the game outright in 90 minutes and 2.50 to lift the trophy. A draw in the full-time result market is 3.40.

Oxford United vs Wycombe Match Up

Oxford have developed a resoluteness that firstly took them into the play-offs, and secondly saw them overcome a far more experienced Portsmouth side in the play-off semi-final.

That tough-to-beat style will come up against a Wycombe side that certainly had goals in them in their semi-final win. Who will hold their nerve at Wembley?
