Wycombe have one foot in the League One play-off final after a 4-1 victory over Fleetwood Town in Friday's semi-final first leg. Can they complete the job at Adams Park in Monday's second leg or will Fleetwood pull off an unlikely comeback?

A run of eight defeats in 14 games saw Gareth Ainsworth's Wycombe slip to third in the League table before the season ended, but the failure to secure an automatic promotion spot was put firmly aside as they won the first leg of the play-off semi-final 4-1 at Fleetwood.

Wycombe led 2-1 after a dramatic opening six minutes with Nnamdi Ofoborh opening for the Chairboys, Ched Evans levelling from the penalty spot for Fleetwood, who then saw goalkeeper Alex Cairns putting into his own net.

Fleetwood were reduced to 10-men after the dismissal of Lewis Coyle with Joe Jacobsen missing the resulting penalty. But further goals from David Wheeler and Alex Samuel completed a rout for Wycombe prior to Fleetwood's Paddy Madden being sent off for a second yellow card late in the game.

Fleetwood enjoyed a 12-game unbeaten run to make the play-offs courtesy of six wins and six draws in that period. But things came unstuck for Joey Barton and his side at Highbury Stadium and they now face a mountain of a task with a four-goal winning margin needed at Wycombe if they are to make the play-off final.
