New Salford City boss Richie Wellens has had an immediate impact and bids to continue that against Bolton on Friday at the University of Bolton Stadium. The League Two sides clash for the first time in what will be Wellens' first league game in charge of the Ammies.

Bolton Form

Bolton's fall down the leagues continues with Ian Evatt's side sitting 20th after just one win in their last seven matches in League Two.

The injury-hit Trotters have drawn four of their last seven league matches, including the most recent - a 1-1 home stalemate with Mansfield thanks to Antoni Sarcevic's last minute leveller. They have also drawn with Grimsby, Cambridge and Barrow in the last month.

A solitary victory over Bradford courtesy of Nathan Delfouneso's goal is accompanied by a 2-1 home defeat to Oldham and a 4-0 thumping at Leyton Orient in the last seven games.

Last weekend, Bolton were eliminated from the FA Cup first round after going down 3-2 at home to Crewe. Delfouneso's brace was not enough for the Trotters.

Bolton Team News

Bolton could get a big boost with wing-back Gethin Jones and forwards Shaun Miller, Eoin Doyle and Lloyd Isgrove all pushing for returns to the starting line-up.

Goalkeeper Billy Crellin's place in the side is under threat, while midfielder Antoni Sarcevic and striker Nathan Delfouneso may play on through the pain barrier once again.

Salford Form

Richie Wellens has enjoyed back-to-back cup successes since leaving Swindon Town to take over the reins at Salford.

His side defeated Hartlepool 2-0 in extra-time in the FA Cup first round as Bruno Andrade and Mani Dieseruvwe scored following a 0-0 draw in normal time.

Both were on the scoresheet again in midweek as Salford came from a goal down to get the better of Rochdale 2-1 in the EFL Trophy.

Salford's League Two form prior to Wellens' appointment had seen them lose 2-1 at Cambridge most recently. That followed wins over Southend and Oldham and a draw with Crawley.

Salford Team News

Bruno Andrade and Mani Dieseruvwe have given Wellens plenty of food for thought with their goals in the last two games. They come under consideration to start at Bolton. Midfielder Darren Gibson is out injured.
