Newport County vs Port Vale Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

In-form Newport County welcome Port Vale to Rodney Parade in the English League Two this weekend. The Exiles have hit the ground running and I am tipping them to pick up another victory against Port Vale.

Newport County Form & Team News

Newport County are flying high in League Two at the moment and second in the league table. They are one of only two unbeaten sides in the division.

Manager Michael Flynn’s side have won three of their last four league matches. They have also not conceded a goal in their last five games in League Two. Their last match was a 2-0 victory away at Forest Green Rovers with Padraig Amond and Ryan Haynes grabbing the goals.

Amond is likely to hold his place up front for the Exiles and is likely to be joined by Tristan Abrahams. Josh Ladabie has been a force to be reckoned with in the centre of the park and should keep his place in the starting 11 while Ryan Haynes is also likely to hold his place at left-back.

New signing Dominic Poleon should start on the bench after joining from Crawley. Mickey Demetriou is still out for the South Wales club.

Newport County are priced at 2.25 to win the match with bet365. Given their recent form home form, this is excellent value and is my tip.

Port Vale Form & Team News

After a summer of change, Port Vale fans will be content with a mid-table finish in League Two this season. Vale have failed to keep a clean sheet in 10 of their last 11 games in League Two and while their home form is solid, the Valiants have struggled on the road.

They have failed to win any of their last six away matches in League Two. Their most recent outing ended in a 5-2 defeat to Grimsby, Nathan Smith grabbing their only goal with their other coming from an Elliot Whitehouse own goal.

Vale Manager John Askey is likely to stick with a similar starting 11, David Amoo has been a big presence and is likely to keep his position upfront. New signing Jordan Archer may also be given a place on the bench and a brief appearance.

Port Vale are priced at 3.20 to pick up their first away win of the season. A draw is priced at 3.30.

Newport County vs Port Vale Head to Head

Newport County and Port Vale have played four times, Newport with one win and three draws. Their last encounter was in League Two in January and it ended in a 0-0 draw.

Newport County vs Port Vale Match Up

Newport County are one of the in-form teams in the football league at the moment. Port Vale have been stronger than some had expected but their winless run away from home is likely to continue here.

Post bet analysis

Nice returns on the Newport win and they offered great value at 2.25. They did leave it quite late though and Port Vale were slightly more resilient than anticipated.
