Arsenal welcome Leicester City to the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday. Both sides made winning starts to their Europa League campaigns on Thursday and now seek to return to winning ways in the league.

Arsenal Form

Arsenal have had something of a mixed bag of results and performances to start the new Premier League season.

Mikel Arteta’s side played their first game of the Europa League group stages on Thursday at Rapid Vienna and it proved to be a successful trip to Austria. Goals from David Luiz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed a come-from-behind 2-1 win.

That result means the Gunners have now won three of their last four games in all competitions, although they were defeated in their previous Premier League outing.

That came away to Manchester City, as a Raheem Sterling effort sealed their fate in a 1-0 defeat. That was a second loss in three Premier League games.

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal will be without Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari, Rob Holding, Dani Ceballos, Willian and Gabriel Martinelli through injury this weekend.

Leicester City Form

Leicester City made a successful return to European football in midweek after a comfortable 3-0 win over Ukrainian outfit Zorya. James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Kelechi Iheanacho all got on the scoresheet for the Foxes.

It was a much-needed win for Brendan Rodgers’ side, who had lost their last two Premier League games at home without scoring. The defeats to West Ham (3-0) and Aston Villa (1-0) came as a real surprise to the Foxes, who had started the season with three consecutive wins.

Now returning to the road, they will be looking to add to the eight goals they have scored in their two Premier League away games this term.

Leicester City Team News

Leicester are missing a number of starters through injury on Sunday with Caglar Soyuncu, Ricardo Pereira, Wilfred Ndidi and Jamie Vardy all sidelined.

Arsenal vs Leicester City Head to Head

Arsenal have beaten Leicester City 67 times in their history, losing the fixture 32 times. There have also been 45 draws between the sides. Leicester have picked up two wins and a draw in their last three Premier League meetings with Arsenal, although the Gunners did knock them out of the League Cup earlier this season.

Arsenal vs Leicester City Odds

Arsenal are favoured in this contest at 1.91 with bet365, leaving Leicester as the 3.80 outsiders on the road. The draw is available at 3.75.

Arsenal vs Leicester City Match Up

Missing as many as four players that would be in their strongest starting XI, injuries could really play a factor against Leicester in this contest. Arsenal will be looking to take advantage of that fact against an opponent that also has European aspirations this season.

Injuries have potentially denied us what could have been a very close game in the Premier League. I’m backing Arsenal to win, with Leicester’s injury list looking too much to overcome against an Arsenal team with an excellent home record.
