A win at home to Bournemouth in midweek saw Wolves extend their unbeaten run to seven games in the Premier League, and they will be confident of making that eight when they host relegation-threatened Aston Villa on Saturday.

A late goal from Ahmed Elmohamady last time out rescued a point for Villa away to Newcastle United, but it was not enough to lift Dean Smith's side out of the bottom three, and it’s hard to see them moving out of the Premier League’s relegation zone this weekend.

Aston Villa Form

They may have returned from Tyneside with a much-needed point in their last game, but Dean Smith's side have picked up just two points from the last 21 available in the Premier League, drawing two and losing five of their last seven games.

Aston Villa Team News

Tom Heaton and Wesley remain unavailable for Villa, with both unlikely to feature again this season.

Wolves Form

Seven games unbeaten in the Premier League, and a 1-0 win against Bournemouth means Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have now kept 10 clean sheets this season, including six in their past seven games.

Wolves Team News

Barring any late injuries sustained in training, Wolves are set to have a full squad to choose from as they look to continue their unbeaten run. Adama Traore was recalled in midweek after coming off the bench to play a part in both goals at West Ham in the previous game, and will be hoping for another start after his man-of-the-match performance against Bournemouth.

Aston Villa vs Wolves Head to Head

Villa have the upper hand when it comes to recent meetings. Since 2003, the two sides have met 16 times, with Villa winning seven compared to Wolves' four (five draws).

In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Wolves recorded a 2-1 win.

Aston Villa vs Wolves Odds

Wolves are 4/5 favourites with bet365 at time of writing. Villa are 7/2, with the draw available at 5/2.

Aston Villa vs Wolves Match Up

Wolves are without doubt the team in form. Since the return of the Premier League and ‘Project Restart’, they have picked up where they left off, with the likes of Traore and Raul Jimenez impressing.

The point at Newcastle saw Villa avoid defeat away from home for the first time in four games and manager Dean Smith said after Wednesday's game that there were "lots of positives" to take out of the trip to Tyneside.

However, Wolves' recent form has been superb, and it's hard to see them not picking up three point as they look to continue their quest for a Top Four finish.

  • Wolves are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions, and in their last seven Premier League games.

Wolves have been extremely impressive since Premier League football resumed, and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side can pick up another three points against a struggling Villa side who despite playing well at times against Newcastle do not create enough chances.

Back the visitors to pick up another three points.
