Bournemouth vs Liverpool Match Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

AFC Bournemouth Form & Team News

Bournemouth made a bright start to the season but appear to have hit a rough patch in recent weeks. They have lost four of their last five matches and are currently in seventh position, level with two other teams on 23 points.

Eddie Howe's men finally ended a run of four straight defeats after seeing off Huddersfield 2-1 in a midweek clash. They took a two-goal lead through Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser and were able to hold on despite the visitors pulling one back before the break.

Howe is likely to stick with much of the team that started on Tuesday as he looks to build on the win over Huddersfield. Wilson and Joshua King are expected to continue their partnership in attack while Ryan Fraser and David Brooks are in contention to start in midfield.

Liverpool FC Form & Team News

The Reds continue to chase champions Manchester City as both teams remain undefeated in the Premier League. They are still second on the table with 39 points having made their best ever start to the season with 12 wins and three draws from 15 matches.

Jurgen Klopp's team claimed their fourth consecutive victory in midweek after seeing off Burnley 3-1 at Turf Moor. They fought back from a goal down with strikes from James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri ensuring they earned all three points.

Liverpool will be without Joe Gomez after the defender picked up an injury at Turf Moor. Sadio Mane also missed the midweek win due to injury and is a doubt for Saturday’s clash while Firmino and Mohamed Salah are set to return to the starting line-up after coming off the bench to good effect against Burnley.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool Head-to-Head

Liverpool have claimed seven wins and suffered just one defeat in nine previous matches against Bournemouth. The Reds did the double over the Cherries last season as they claimed a 4-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium before earning a 3-0 triumph at home in the reverse fixture.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool Match Up

Bournemouth enjoy an attacking brand of football under manager Eddie Howe. The quartet of Brooks, Fraser, Wilson and King are often handfuls for opposing defenders and will stretch the Liverpool backline, that appeared to be struggling with fatigue in the match against Burnley.

The home team's style of play means they often leave spaces at the back for opponents to exploit. Liverpool have the players to take advantage in Salah and Firmino, who has scored three goals in his last five matches against the Cherries.
