Brentford vs Ipswich Preview

Brentford and Ipswich have two of the worst defences in the Premier League and concede goals at an alarming rate. BTTS has good value here and in-form Bryan Mbeumo is a solid choice in the goalscorer markets.

Head to Head

Ipswich have a 7-5 advantage against Brentford in 18 meetings with six draws.

Brentford Form

Brentford have been inconsistent early this season, winning five out of 10 games in all competitions. The West Londoners have scored 17, conceded 16 and kept one clean sheet.

The Bees held West Ham to a 1-1 draw and beat Wolves 5-3 at home before the international break. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring in both games.

Thomas Frank’s team then lost 2-1 at Man United, despite Ethan Pinnock giving Brentford a first-half lead. They faced heavy second-half pressure, allowing 1.77 XG, and conceded twice.

Brentford Injuries

Forward Igor Thiago and Gustavo Nunes are injured and unavailable.

Midfield pair Mathias Jensen and Joshua Dasilva won't be in action due to injuries.

Defensive duo Rico Henry and Mathias Jensen are also out.

Ipswich Form

Newly promoted Ipswich are winless in eight Premier League matches. The Suffolk side have conceded 16 goals - the third-highest amount in the division.

All four of Ipswich’s points came in a four-match drawing streak before the October internationals. This run ended with a heavy 4-1 loss at West Ham.

The Tractor Boys lost again on Saturday in a 2-0 home defeat against Everton. Ipswich had chances with 1.17-1.61 XG but conceded twice in the first period and couldn’t reply.

Ipswich Injuries

Midfielder Massimo Luongo has an ankle injury and won’t be available here.

Defenders Axel Tuanzebe Janoi Donacien and Jacob Greaves are also ruled out through injury.

Verdict

Brentford and Ipswich are incredibly leaky and there’s no reason to step off of goals at the Gtech on Saturday. Bryan Mbeumo has hit top form early this season and he can add to his EPL tally against struggling Ipswich.
